Age, belt level and size are factored in to create an environment that isn't exclusive to professional athletes. An old guy can compete against those wipper snappers and have a chance to win. People who are disadvantaged with a lower handicap have to work harder.

C. System 2 - Handicap + Resilience Lives

This format is for mixed sex divisions, awarding a handicap based on the system 1 criteria plus a "lives" system where the underdog has to be submitted x amount of times for the opponent to win. If the opponent scores less points or does not achieve clearing all the "lives" of the other, they lose.
